The story behind it
Seiko's 1986 model is, by Seiko's own account, the world's first 1,000 m diver with a ceramic outer case. Seiko got there in stages: 150 m in 1965, 300 m in 1968, a titanium 600 m in 1975, and the ceramic-shrouded 1,000 m in 1986.
