Privacy Policy
NO QUARTZ (“we”) runs the daily watch quiz at noquartz.app. This page explains, in plain English, what we collect and what we do with it. Questions: hello@noquartz.app.
What we collect
- Account details — your email address, username, avatar choice and privacy settings, if you create an account.
- Game data — your answers, scores, streaks, rank and challenge results, so the game can score you, keep your streak and show leaderboards.
- Guest device ID — if you play without an account, a random ID stored in your browser so your answers and votes count once. It isn't linked to your name or email.
- Feedback — thumbs up/down votes and the optional reason you give on a question.
- Outbound clicks — when you click a link to another site from the game, we record which link, where it appeared and when, to learn what readers find useful.
- Emails you send us — if you write to us, we keep the conversation.
We don't collect payment details, precise location or contacts.
Why we use it
To run the game (scoring, streaks, ranks, leaderboards, challenges), to send the emails you've opted into (you can switch them off in Settings), to fix mistakes in questions, and to understand in aggregate how the game is used.
Who processes it
- Supabase — our database and sign-in provider. The database is hosted in the EU (Frankfurt).
- Vercel — hosts the website and runs the server code.
- Resend — sends our game emails (for example the reminders and notifications you can switch on or off in Settings).
These companies process data on our behalf only. We don't sell your data, share it with advertisers or use it for ad targeting.
What's public
Your username, avatar, rank and scores can appear on leaderboards and your profile page. You can hide your profile, streak and score history in Settings. Your email is never shown to other players.
Cookies and local storage
We use a sign-in cookie to keep you logged in, and your browser's local storage for game progress, preferences (such as sound) and the guest device ID. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your data while your account exists. You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete account, or by emailing hello@noquartz.app from the address on your account. You can also ask us for a copy of your data or to correct it. Anonymous aggregate statistics (for example, how many players got a question right) may remain after deletion.
Children
NO QUARTZ is not directed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has signed up, email us and we'll delete the account.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above; for significant changes we'll tell account holders by email or in the game.
